Excursions / Burgas
This comperatively new city is a heir of ancient civilizations. Its name comes from 'bourg' - tower, lots of which there have been in the neighbourhood.
Today Bourgas is a large administrative, economic, transporting and cultural center; one of the most fast growing cities on Bulgaria, third in industry growing after Sofia and Plovdiv and fourth by population.
Great interest for tourists is the Sea park with lots of monuments of great people as well as the magnificent collection in the Ethnographical museum with wonderful samples of local tissues and folk costumes.
The Art gallery is very interesting with its Black sea icons from XVI-XXth century.
It`s very pleasant for tourists to walk in the Sea park and in teh central part of the city where they find warm atmosphere and liveliness. The reason for this are all the cafes and restaurants, located on both sides of the street, leading to teh Sea park as well the ones which are in the park itself.
